COMMON AC PROBLEMS

Air conditioners just like every other electrical appliance are not immune to problems or damage. An air conditioner can break down at any point in time. But there are some common AC problems; which kind of affects all or majority of air conditioners in existence today. These problems are not peculiar to a particular brand or type of AC alone, but cuts across the entire AC population.

So in this write-up, we are going to discuss some of these common AC problems, and how they can be prevented or solved.

Freezing AC

Freezing AC is a very common AC problem which affects thousands of air conditioners allover the globe yearly. Freezing AC is commonly caused by low Freon. That is, if the Freon level of your air conditioner is very low, it will make your AC coil to freeze up regularly.

So if that is the case with your unit, make sure you recharge the Freon as soon as possible, because when you constantly run your AC with the coil all frozen up, this practice will irreversibly damage the compressor of your AC.

Freon Leak

Freon leak is also another common AC problem which affects countless numbers of air conditioners allover the world yearly. Freon leak is not to be taken likely because it can lead to freezing, which in turn might lead to AC damage.

Water Leak

Water leak is one of the most common AC problems known to mankind, and majority of AC owners out there have encountered this problem. Now several factors can be responsible for leaking AC, like; clogged drain line, loosed AC casing, etc. But the important thing here is that, the leaking must be addressed immediately, if not it can damage your AC.

So if the AC leak is as a result of a clogged drain line, you must ensure that the drain line is unclogged or cleaned as soon as possible. Same goes for a loosed AC casing; the casing must be properly tightened back immediately.
